Scope and arrangement

The recipient of Logue's March 26, 1866, letter is William Grigg but no information is mentioned in the letter to identify him further. Logue refers to having spent much time at Grigg's house as a "Safe gaurd." He also mentions having come through the closing battles of the War safely and is now keeping a restaurant. Logue sends his regards to several people including Miss Mittie. The second letter from Mary Bailey Davis, which is not dated or further identified, explains that Elizabeth Newell (Mrs. Worth Williams of Greensboro) was the granddaughter of Miss Mittie.
